One Direction是一個英國五人男子組合，成員包括：Liam Payne，Louis Tomlinson，Niall Horan，Harry Styles和Zayn Malik。他們作為個人選手通過了The X-Factor(英國偶像——一檔英國選秀節目，由Simon Cowell創辦)第七季（2010）的選拔賽，進入了訓練營，卻沒有成功進入男生組評審之家。在評審Nicole Scherzinger的提議下，這五個青少年被組成了一個組合，從而晉級，One Direction成立的這個美妙日子是2010年7月23日。最終，One Direction進入了決賽，並且成為了當季比賽的季軍。之後簽約唱片公司Syco Music。

首張專輯《Up All Night》於2011年11月21日發售，專輯首支單曲《What Makes You Beautiful》於2011年9月11日在英國發售，並拿到英國單曲榜第一的成績，專輯的第二支單曲《Gotta Be You》於2011年11月13日於英國發售，首張專輯《Up All Night》於英國時間2011年11月21日發售。五個大男孩在MV中無比陽光帥氣，MV由2個部分組成，一個是1D成員們的玩樂時間，另一部分則是他們走上街頭和冬粉們互動。
