研究方向

(1)藍藻多糖的生化特性、合成基因簇的鑑定、生理生態功能以及生物技術套用
藍藻(又叫藍細菌)產生大量的多糖,特別是胞外多糖,關於其生物學功能以及資源化利用的研究不多。相比於其它生物多糖,藍藻多糖含有的單糖種類更多,分子結構也更為複雜,通過分析其絮凝活性、分散活性、乳化活性、凝膠特性和粘度特性等,從而研究其在藍藻群體形成、底棲生長、浮游生長以及抵禦外界不良環境等過程中的作用機制。藍藻多糖分子結構複雜,因而可能會具有不同於其它生物多糖的物化特性和生物活性,從而可能會有新的潛在套用價值,如作為新的絮凝劑、乳化劑、分散劑和凝膠等在醫藥和食品等行業套用。對於藍藻生物合成基因的研究目前處於空白,通過基因敲除的方法鑑定藍藻多糖基因合成簇是研究多糖合成的遺傳機制的基礎。
(2)藍藻水華暴發機制以及控制技術原理
藍藻水華已經成為一個世界性的重大環境問題,已越來越嚴重地危害著飲用水供應、漁業生產和旅遊等。我們發現水華暴發過程中藍藻基因型組成不斷地連續演替,是太湖藍藻能適應環境條件不斷變化導致水華長時間暴發和維持的重要機制,細菌在藍藻水華暴發過程中也發揮了重要影響。水華藍藻的最主要種類是微囊藻,微囊藻能形成水華的關鍵是其在自然界主要以群體形態存在,從而在抵禦浮遊動物攝食以及紫外線損害等方面具有競爭優勢,而微囊藻形成群體的關鍵因素是膠鞘多糖的作用,我們試圖通過分析膠鞘多糖的生化特性、多糖產生的生理和分子調控機制,研究膠鞘多糖在微囊藻群體形成過程中的作用機制。我們的研究也發現,群體大小不同的微囊藻基因型和毒素組成有差異,較大群體的產毒基因型比例較高,同時,較大群體含有的毒性高的毒素比例更高,因為群體大小不同的微囊藻在水體中的空間分布有差異,因此在進行水質安全監測的過程中必須特別警覺較大群體的微囊藻。
(3)微藻生物技術
微藻能光合自養生長,並且生長周期短,螺旋藻、鹽藻和血球藻等微藻已經進行工業化生產,並在保健品、天然色素以及藥物開發等方面成功套用。通過分離篩選出優良藻種,研究其在生物能源和生物活性物質等方面的生物技術套用。
(4)水生微生物多樣性以及生物技術套用
分析水生微生物的遺傳和生化多樣性,研究其在淨化水體方面的套用。
